The Valid from and Valid to fields of this section define the period of time when a language version of an Item can be published. They do not invoke publish or unpublish actions.
A language version of a content Item will only appear if the Valid From and Valid To dates in the Lifetime section are empty or if the system date is between those values for the context language. Clearing the lifetime date fields for a specific language should result in the content Item appearing after the next publication.
Hide version
This checkbox defines whether a language version of an Item will be published. If checked, the previous version of an Item will be published. In case when only one version exists, the Hide version checkbox will unpublish the Item completely.
It is possible to view the history of Item version publications by using the Publish Viewer.
Notes :
-
In the Preview/WebEdit mode you should use a calendar on the fly-out panel on the right to see a version of the Item on a particular date.
-
The valid from and valid to dates and times obey the <frequency>…</frequency> definition of the <scheduling> section of the web.config file.
